The Football League Precision Goalkeeper Golden Gloves award for December was won by keeper Ryan Clarke. He admitted he was chuffed to bits after he won.

The Oxford United stopper kept a clean sheet in all four League Two games as the U’s beat Northampton and AFC Wimbledon both 2-0 and drew 0-0 at Morecambe and Torquay.

Clarke also praised his defensive colleagues.

“I’m really chuffed to get the award, it’s the first time I have received it,” said Clarke.

“The lads in front of me deserve a lot of credit as well because we had a strong December.

“We didn’t concede any goals and it gave us a good platform to go on and get some good results.”
